KA08 Accessories

ka08If you read my articles, you know that I particularly enjoy finding, using and writing about the knock off iPhones. Of particular interest lately are the minis or the clones that are roughly the size of a credit card.   The CECT KA08 is one of the best of these, but it has a lot of cool upgrades like a better camera, SMS texts messages that can read themselves to you, and a rainbow of colors available (I’m talking colors that we haven’t seen before like pastel blue and lime green.)   If you’ve found this site, you probably already have the phone.  However, if you’re researching the KA08, you can get more information about it (video, specs, etc.)  here. It’s still very cheap and it’s free of contracts.  So, your initial cost is usually very well under $100 (you can often get one for around $60-$80, which is coming down all time. And your monthly depends on what features you will need in a phone.  There are cheap prepaid talk, text, email, and web sims that are widely available. This can save a lot of money over the life of the phone.

If you do have the phone and are looking for accessories for it, you should know that they are pretty easy to find and you needn’t buy them overseas.  As with any lucrative industry, the clone industry has attracted alot of entrepreneurs.  Most of them have landed on Ebay, which works for us because this keeps the prices low and the feedback system ensures you know who you are dealing with.  Below, I’ve listed the most popularly searched terms on Ebay with links which will take you to the site.  If you’re not a member, you can sign up here for free.  (Affiliate Disclosure)

Unlimited  Sim Cards For Data Internet: Usually under $20, these sims will get you internet, MMS, SMS, talk, etc. for 30 days.  They’ve become very popular. You do have to change the phone number with each new card, but since this phone is dual sim, this doesn’t matter b/c you can keep one number constant.

CECT KA08 Skins/ Cases / Pouches : (usually well under $10) Some people don’t use skins for this phone because why hide the cool colors, but you can get a clear silicone one or, some people opt for the more professional leather case.

Screen Guard / Clear Skins: (Silicone clear guard that goes over the phone to protect it). Also helps with smudges. Often mirrored, but not always.

Internet Instructions, User’s Manual, Instructions, etc. (helps greatly if you need help setting up the MMS, SMS, or internet / data browsing.)

Batteries: (Usually under a few dollars): You can change the battery on this phone yourself (unlike the iPhone)

Earphones / Head sets I’d recommend springing for quality here. The KAo8’s speakers are great and you don’t want to distort that with cheap headphones. And, if you’re going to talk advantage of the talking sms / text feature, you may want basic headphones so people don’t overhear your messages.

Car /Home Chargers: These chargers are pretty unique in that they are essentially a USB cord with a  plug / car charger that hooks onto the end.

Extra Memory (This phone can hold up to 8GB of memory) 8GB of memory on Ebay will typically run you $10 -$15.

Data Cable: You can either transfer data via bluetooth, memory card, or this USB cable. You’ll usually find these bundled with something - a charger, or a case, maybe.
